What it is

Cagrilintide is a long-acting synthetic amylin analogue peptide. It belongs to the class of amylin receptor agonists. It is supplied as lyophilized material for research use only.

Mechanism (technical)

Cagrilintide has been studied for its action on amylin and calcitonin receptors, pathways associated with the regulation of food intake and glucose homeostasis. In clinical pharmacology studies it has been investigated alone and in combination with the GLP-1 receptor agonist semaglutide. Pharmacodynamic endpoints have characterized these receptor-mediated effects.
